ELA 2 Podcast Project
This podcast project was born from a desire to help high school sophomores find their voices on real-world issues they care about deeply. In our study students were asked two main questions: What injustices do you see in your world? How can you use your voice to advocate for justice?
They rose to the challenge and identified real issues that touched their hearts from immigration to police brutality to abortion and more. Their opinions came down on many sides of each issue. To honor their work, I have led them to clearly define their positions, but I have not influenced those positions.
Students used news articles combined with story to make their claims resonate. All sources and stories used were gathered by students for educational purposes. Two episodes will be published each week beginning with the series the students named “Big Voices, Little People” and concluding with the series they named “OP Out Loud.” We hope you listen and remember that our country is strongest when we honor all voices.
